My Lifestyle Before Keto

After graduation, I landed an 8-hour desk job that made me eat my stress away, and do less physical activities. 

I became overweight, lazy and eventually led an unhealthy lifestyle in no time.

Soon after, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) that required me to lose weight. 

At first, I thought it would be easy for me to get back in the game to be fit and healthy like when I was younger. 

But then, every time I looked in the mirror, I didn’t see any progress. 

I settled with the fact that it was perhaps the time that I needed to love and accept this new me with all the fats and curves.

For years I lived without food discipline, and I tried to convince myself that I was confidently happy with the way I looked by wearing bikinis and flattering outfits. 

I just wanted to enjoy the moment YOLO-ing, without a care on what other people might think when they see me.


However, I didn’t like my pictures to be taken or uploaded in my social media accounts.

Deep inside, I didn’t want any evidence of how I looked to re-live it in the future because to be honest, I was so insecure but I didn’t want anybody to take notice of it.
One dreadful day, it happened. I had an excruciating pain in my stomach and I was rushed to the Emergency Room.

They performed laboratory tests on me, including an ultrasound, and saw that I had gallstones. 

Since I was in pain for more than 10 hours, and no medicine was making it go away, my doctors recommended removing my gallbladder. 

That was a game changer. I realized that I needed to start changing my lifestyle. 

I started with how I eat.

For the past years, I didn’t normally eat fruits and vegetables everyday. So, I started incorporating it with my daily meal. 

Then, I learned about the different types of diet. This was when I discovered the miracles of keto. 

To be honest, it’s pretty expensive to buy meals everyday. Plus, I am not even sure how healthy the food being served is.

Since I live on a budget, and I enjoy preparing my own food, I decided to create my own meal plan that’s perfect for the lifestyle I wanted and needed.

Slowly, I started to see and feel the changes in my body.
My skin started glowing. My arms were getting smaller. I can now see my toes when I look down instead of my belly fat.

I am happier and healthier. I have more energy. I am more disciplined. I love myself even better.

People are starting to notice.

They often ask me how I manage to do it. I say, it was a challenging process, but it’s not impossible.
